Updates on manhunt for Fugitive Mas Selamat Kastari.
Search Continues
Reported by Straits Times, Carolyn Quek and April Chong.
The manhunt for fugitive Mas Selamat Kastari entered its eighth day with military and police officers spotted in various parts of the island yesterday.
Hundreds of Special Operations Command forces and military police were seen forming along the Kranji Expressway, towards the Bukit Timah Expressway. Fellow officers combed through the dense vegetation.
The straits Times understands that the security forces started searching the forest opposite Zhenghua Secondary School on Senja Road at 2 am yestaday. They changed shift at dawn, about the same time it started to pour. They were not seen in the area after 3.30pm.
A group of about 50 military policemen were also seen at Labrador Park, off Pasir Panjang Road. They fanned out in the wooded areaa, with some keeping watch on the beachfront and others stationed at the lookout point on the former world war II site.
In the evening, soldiers were seen scattered across areas in Sungei Buloh, Lim Chu Kang and Jalan Gali Batu, near Woodlands Road.
End.
I wonder how long would it take to apprehend this Singapore's most wanted fugitive. For more discussions and past reports, visit SG Club.
